Kaysie Getty (She/Her), a 29 year-old New Jersey native, has exceeded expectations as an evolving alumna of the foster care system. Kaysie has used her foster care experience to help bring about change in the foster care system at the state and national level in hopes of bettering the child welfare system. She formerly served as a Board Member for Foster Care Alumni of America. She is also a support coach for NYTD Reviewers through JBS International, and a Youth Thrive Ambassador/Trainer for the Center for the Study of Social Policy’s Youth Thrive Initiative. Kaysie has fulfilled numerous speaking engagements, telling her story in an effort to help youth who face similar challenges to her own to become successful.

Kaysie earned her MSW from Rutgers University School of Social Work. Following some policy work in Washington, DC, Kaysie returned to her home state and is working for the state Department of Children and Families, Office of Family Voice. Finally, Kaysie is the founder of Sew EdUcated, LLC, a company that provides blue handmade stoles to young people and adults in and from foster care who graduate from college.
