What makes you powerful?                                                                         

 

I am powerful because I have an expressive & Bold community and ancestry behind me that inspires my power to show. I am a powerful being I am descended from humble history and strength. I am powerful because, to quote Brianne James, I am my ancestor’s wildest dreams.

What message would you offer for current, former, and future Black and LGBTQ+ young people impacted by the system?                                                                                                                 

 

My message to young Black LGBTQ+ folx who have commonality by experiencing the system: Living an inauthentic life will only prevent you from achieving your highest potential. Your Spirit is your source and connection to the strength of your ancestors and to the need for perseverance & resilience throughout your life. Trust in your Spirit, trust in yourself, trust that you are enough!

What does Black Joy mean to you?                                                       

 

Black Joy to me is expressing my creativity by dancing, singing, and writing to give thanks to the Ancestors and Black community who have worked so allowed me the opportunity to do so freely.
