About

Garden of Vitality is a photo series highlighting brilliant Black and LGBTQ+ folk who have been impacted by the family regulation system. Too often we only hear about the harm brought against these shared identities. In advocacy we discuss the well-documented over-representation but very seldomly do we see our lives celebrated. We welcome you to our garden of vitality. Here we are resilient, we are outspoken, we are authentic, we are vulnerable, and we welcome you to celebrate with us.

This project will be presented at the Columbia Center for Contemporary Critical Thought's event, Abolition Democracy 10/13: Abolish Family Policing, featuring a discussion with Tymber Hudson, Dorothy E.  Roberts, and Bernard E. Harcourt.
